New from ATREA, namely - ventilation unit for swimming pools with ultra-low electricity consumption.
DUPLEX RDH5-L
Ventilation in swimming pools
For the convenience of use of family pools, wellness centers and small public pools, it is necessary to ensure impeccable quality of their ventilation and heating. To reduce humidity, it is advisable to ensure its level so as to suppress evaporation from the water surface and thereby reduce energy consumption. When using swimming pools and wellness areas, problems with chemical water can arise due to the evaporation of chlorine, etc. The use of dehumidifiers does not eliminate the chemical load, it only reduces humidity, without ensuring sufficient air circulation in all corners of the pool, where mold can appear, which is formed during condensation. Controlled ventilation removes the chemical load along with increased humidity. The supply of fresh, warm and dry air to the glass surfaces and to all corners of the pool suppresses and eliminates condensation. For energy-optimal operation, heat recovery equipment is used, which reduces ventilation costs by up to 90% compared to natural ventilation, ensuring ventilation output, heating of the supplied air and the ability to maintain a small "vacuum" in the pool. The DUPLEX RDH5-L unit meets all of the above requirements with minimal electricity needs thanks to highly economical EC fans and a sophisticated digital control system with automatic functions.

Corrosion resistanceAll main components and the housing of the DUPLEX RDH5-L unit are completely treated with a special blue coating that perfectly resists all common chemical compounds used for pool water treatment. The coating is even directly intended for use on ventilation units for seawater pools. Corrosion resistance has been tested in the laboratory according to ČSN EN ISO 9227 NSS, 480-hour test.
Design principles
The main step in designing a swimming pool ventilation system is to calculate the amount of water that will evaporate. The appropriate calculation method is given in the German standard VDI 2089. The next step is to calculate the fresh air flow rate to eliminate the moisture load in summer, when the maximum indoor relative humidity is usually up to 65%. Another integral part of the design is the thermal balance of the space. Appropriate air distribution is also important so that the air flow rate does not exceed 0.2 m/s in the occupied area. It is also advisable to supply air to the glass panels to reduce condensation on colder surfaces and to design the air ducts from a durable material.
It is always necessary to design the HVAC system for the swimming pool separately from other zones. Choosing the DUPLEX RDH5-L ventilation unit, designed for the demanding operating conditions of swimming pools, provides air exchange with heat recovery intensity according to urgent needs. To cover the heat loss of the area in the energy-saving mode, it is advisable to design, for example, underfloor heating. The DUPLEX RDH5-L unit, connected to a heat source, ensures the coverage of heat losses and a rapid increase in air temperature after the energy-saving mode. The RD5 control system responds sensitively to changes and allows the user to monitor and switch between the specified modes. The built-in web server allows remote control via the Internet or even via a smartphone app.
Recuperator R D H 5 - L
The DUPLEX RDH5-L unit is equipped with a modern recuperator - the S5 series recuperator. It transfers heat through partitions - the warmer exhaust air preheats the incoming cool outside air in winter.
Recovery efficiency – thanks to the special design and high recovery efficiency of the heat exchangers, a high cost-effectiveness ratio between the consumed electrical energy (for driving the fans) and the reverse heat gain (recovery) is achieved. The ratio of the consumed power of the fans to the recovery coefficient during swimming pool ventilation reaches an energy efficiency value of 1–45, i.e. up to 45 W of energy from the pool exhaust air is recovered from 1 W of electricity used for DUPLEX RDH5. -L operation of the unit in ventilation mode. Effective ratio 1: 45. The material of the recuperator is also important for use in swimming pools – the entire recuperation heat exchanger is made of plastic, which, due to its properties, has high resistance to aggressive environments formed during condensation of exhaust air.
