Corrosion protection
The casing of the ATREA air handling unit (AHU) is adapted to the environment in which it is installed. A more aggressive environment requires a higher level of protection of the AHU casing against corrosion. This ensures the durability of the casing over many years of AHU operation.

Corrosion protection
The environmental corrosiveness categories are introduced by the ISO 9223 standard. The categories range from very low (C1) to extreme (CX) atmospheric contamination. The standard indicates the extent to which the environment causes corrosion of the AHU housing.

ATREA DUPLEX units
The DUPLEX Flexi 3 casing has an AZ185 aluminum protection. The outer shell is resistant to category C4 (installation in industrial areas, coastal areas with moderate salinity). In addition to the Flexi 3, we also offer DUPLEX Multi modules. Their outer shell is resistant to category C4 since 2012, for both indoor and outdoor use.

Eurovent recommendation
For AHUs installed indoors and outdoors, a C3 resistance enclosure is recommended. C4 resistance is recommended for units operating in aggressive environments.
